Dodge & Ram Lead in J.D. Power Study

J.D. Power APEAL Study - Gossett CDJR - Memphis, TN

Customers are connecting with their new Dodge and Ram vehicles in a big way, according to the 2020 J.D. Power APEAL Study. The two brands achieved first and second place in this annual ranking, switching places from a year ago.

APEAL (which stands for Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout) surveys the emotional attachment that customers feel during the first 90 days of owning their new vehicles. It measures 37 different vehicle attributes that bring drivers joy, from comfort levels to a sense of responsive performance.

At the individual vehicle level, the Dodge Challenger finished No. 1 in the Midsize Sporty Car segment. The Ram 1500 won first place among Large Light-Duty Pickups.

Other high-finishing models from the FCA family include the Dodge Charger (No. 2 Large Car), the Chrysler Pacifica (No. 2 Minivan), and the Dodge Durango (No. 3 Upper Midsize SUV).

Dodge and Ram’s high APEAL finish follows up their strong performance (No. 1 and No. 3) earlier this year in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. This study measures problems that vehicle owners experience over the first 90 days of ownership.
